Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and motivation to enhancing South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) providers during an engagement along with the agency's senior managers at a strategic preparing session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled from the 2024 matric examinations.
In the 724 156 full-time learners who registered with the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% with the registered pupils in the schooling sector.
These learners realized a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means the expense government is producing while in the lives of very poor and susceptible young children is yielding a beneficial impression in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe reported.
